An ecosystem of portable devices, connected and controlled by a Smartphone to acquire medical images; a flexible and simple platform that is able to diagnose remotely; an artificial intelligence and crowdsourcing assistant that automatizes part of the analysis of images.
Spotlab reduces time, distance and cost for medical diagnoses.
The revolution of the Internet of Medical Things.
Spotlab takes advantage of three things: the accessibility and output of mobile phones, the power of 3D printers to make a personalized and on-demand production, and the interpretation capability of AI to make accessible diagnoses through medical images.
Spotlab creates disruptive innovations that have a positive social impact.
Spotlab is a development from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Its origins date back to the MalariaSpot project in 2012. The latter demonstrated the capacity of video games, crowdsourcing and AI as tools for the diagnosis of malaria. Since then, our team has creates simple solutions of innovative and low cost technology that can be applied to problems of global health such as diabetes, cancer, Ebola and Zika.
Our team is a multidisciplinary orchestra with a common goal, to help make a better world.
